CEPM receives recognition as co-host of CARILEC’s “CEO & Leadership” Conference in Punta Cana

  • CARILEC is the main association of electrical energy solution providers operating in the electrical industry in the Caribbean, of which CEPM is a member, as a reference model of quality and innovation in the region.
  • The CEO & Leadership Conference will be held May 21-24 at the Breathless Punta Cana hotel, under the theme “360-degree Leadership: Balancing the Load’, with the participation of leading industry representatives.

La Altagracia, May 22, 2023. The Consorcio Energético Punta Cana – Macao (CEPM) received recognition as co-host of the “CEO & Leadership” Conference organized by CARILEC, an association of electricity solutions providers in the Caribbean, during the opening ceremony held yesterday, Sunday, May 21.

This is the second time that CARILEC has chosen the Dominican Republic as the destination for this conference, which will bring together until May 24 the leading exponents of the energy sector, nationally and internationally, at the Breathless Punta Cana hotel.

During his opening remarks, Rolando González Bunster, president and CEO of InterEnergy Group, CEPM’s parent company, said: “During its 30-year history, CEPM has accompanied the economic and tourism development of the eastern part of the country, thanks to a world-class electric service that guarantees a reliable service of the highest quality, which today we can proudly project and hand in hand with the great allies that have accompanied us on this path”. This is the case of the Finnish company Wärtsilä, also a partner of this conference, with whom CEPM installed its first motors.

The theme chosen to frame the conference agenda is “360-degree leadership: balancing the load”, referring to the need to jointly build “inclusive leadership, creating a holistic vision and shared responsibility for power sector modernization and energy transition”.

In this regard, Rolando González Bunster explained: “The CEO is an orchestra conductor who seeks, creates policy and sets goals, always accompanied by a team that executes this vision and accompanies him along the way. In addition, the CEO must maintain a close relationship with the public sector. Another key aspect of inclusive leadership is leading by example. As leaders, we must model the behavior we want to see in those around us. This means being mindful of our own actions and decisions and ensuring that they align with our values and our vision for the future.”

The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Energy and Mines, Antonio Almonte, among other prominent public sector authorities. CEPM was accompanied by Rolando González Bunster, Juan José Arteaga, member of the board of directors; Oscar San Martín, general manager; Wellington Reyes, director of Innovation; and Carlos Rodríguez, senior manager of Marketing and Corporate Affairs.

The conference will be held over the next few days with presentations by Roberto Herrera, Executive Director of CEPM; Mónica Lupiañez, Director of Renewables at InterEnergy Group; and Wellington Reyes, Director of Innovation.
