BÁVARO, La Altagracia.- The Consorcio Energético Punta Cana – Macao (CEPM) issued a statement announcing the designation of Oscar San Martín as General Manager of the operations in Bávaro and Bayahibe, both within their zones of concession in the East region.
San Martín, during the last 8 years has served as Director of Distribution and Commercial, playing an important role within the company, leading the areas of operation and maintenance of electricity networks, the business cycle, customer service management, thermal energy projects, telecommunications, marketing and new business development.
CEPM makes this announcement at a time when the company is making significant investments to guarantee the quality of the electric service in all its concession areas.

Although of Chilean origin, San Martin feels already Dominican because he has been living in the country for 16 years. With a degree in Commercial Engineering from the University of Chile, he has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Corporate Finance from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra in Santo Domingo. He has made several specializations in the areas of renewable energy, risk management, international trade, business development, marketing, formulation and evaluation of projects.
San Martín has more than 15 years of experience in the Energy Sector, since 2010 he is part of the Executive Committee of the Punta Cana Macao Energy Consortium (CEPM), standing out for his innovation capacity to keep operations at the forefront, leading to CEPM to operate one of the most modern smart networks in the world.
In this new stage, San Martín assumes the great challenge of leading the operations of the Punta Cana Macao Energy Consortium (CEPM), the Electricity Company of Bayahibe (CEB) and the telecommunications company Activa, under its responsibility the electrical and telecommunications supply in the East zone as well as the investment projects that the company carries out to guarantee the quality of the service.
It is recalled that recently CEPM announced the investment of more than 140 million dollars for the realization of three projects that seek to shield the electricity supply in the area against situations of force majeure, such as hurricanes and storms. They also stressed that this would allow the use of natural gas as fuel to generate energy. “These projects will make it possible to attend any event that occurs outside of our concession area,” the company announced a few weeks ago as part of a meeting with members of the press held at its facilities.
