Innovation

We innovate in order to provide better solutions for our customers, be more efficient and contribute to a more sustainable world.

Innovation is part of our strategy. It is a fundamental pillar of everything we do daily, and for the future. It allows us to address the challenges present in all areas of the company.

New technologies in power generation

We incorporate innovation through new technologies to the generation processes, in order to improve production and reduce the impact on the environment.

We are committed to technological improvement by introducing new technologies and processes that will allow us to improve the efficiency and consumption of natural resources in our generators, with the corresponding reduction in emissions and waste.

We incorporate new technologies in the engineering and construction phases, allowing us to save time and be more efficient during the design and execution of its new renewable capacity.

New technologies for energy efficiency

Smart grids make possible a better integration of renewable and distributable generation in the electrical system.

Innovation is one of the founding pillars needed to address the challenges of the future of energy. At CEPM we invest resources and develop research projects and initiatives with the aim of improving processes related to the distribution network. These are:

  1. Digitalization in distribution networks
    a. The digitalization process in activities related to distribution networks is key to achieving greater efficiency in the company’s processes.
  2. Smart grids and Smart Cities projects
    a. The objective of these projects is to ensure that the networks can provide an effective response to the needs of their users.
  3. Network innovation projects and proofs of concept
    a. Some of the network innovation projects we carry out is the control of electrical substations.

Thanks to these innovative projects we are able to offer the best service to our customers.

But in addition, the digitalization process will allow for the promotion of the decarbonization of the transportation, residential and industrial systems. It also affirms that CEPM has the technology, resources and capacity to lead the digital transformation of the energy sector and turn it into a fundamental competitive advantage in the coming years.

At the forefront of digital transformation

We incorporate innovation through new technologies in the generation processes. The goal is to continuously improve production and reduce the impact on the environment.

We are committed to technological improvement with the introduction of new technologies and processes that allow us to improve the efficiency and consumption of natural resources in our generators. The result is the subsequent reduction in emissions and waste.

We incorporate new technologies in the engineering and construction phase, allowing us to save time and be more efficient during the design and execution of its new renewable capacity.

Alternate payment channels

  • Technology-based Alternate Payment Channels (CEPM App, Virtual Office, WhatsApp, Kiosks, etc.…) The main objective is for the clients to pay for their services from the comfort of their home, without having to go to a commercial office. Minimize visits to commercial offices.

  • Company Agreements / Payment Stations. Nationwide availability, quantity. For those who do not have access to these platforms, they can use other facilities or have access to Payment Service stations, conveniently distributed at the national level. These services only apply to prepaid customers. There are more than 5,000 charging points throughout the country.

  • Benefits. Flexibility, facility to pay for all your services from the comfort of your home.

Live-Line Jobs

Jobs dealing with voltage (TCT) or live lines is what is carried out, mainly in medium voltage (MV) distribution networks, without the need to de-energize and/or interrupt the electrical service received by our customers.

Currently, more than 90% of maintenance activities, both preventive and corrective, are carried out on live lines, as well as other network expansion and interconnection activities for large customers. The main benefit of this work methodology is, firstly, to provide service quality by reducing the number of outages to our customers and, secondly, to provide economic advantages due to the sale of uninterrupted energy.

In order to execute this type of work, there is a demand for highly trained technical personnel, equipped with a set of specialized tools and equipment that guarantees the safety of the personnel staff, as well as the integrity of the electrical infrastructure on which said activity is carried out at all times.

Brief Historical Review:

In order to de-energize a particular circuit to carry out corrective preventive maintenance, or repairs in the MV network, was a very problematic process due to the demands of continuity and quality of service that had to be maintained for 24 hours without interruption.

  • The growing demand for energy and the need to maintain an efficient and quality-oriented service led CEPM to implement the “Tension Work” (TCT, in Spanish) system, at the beginning of 2008.

  • To this end, a TCT training center was inaugurated with CEPM personnel. They were given theoretical-practical courses for the application of different tasks in the Energized MV grids.

  • The staff began to gain experience over time, and currently works with tension grids both with Medium Voltage (MT, in Spanish) and High Voltage (HT, in Spanish) lines at 69 kV.
