Bill Clinton visits Punta Cana and takes the opportunity to tour the facilities of CEPM



The former US President arrived in Punta Cana for a short vacation and was received by our Chairman and CEO, Rolando González Bunster. 

Bavaro. Dominican Republic. The former President of the United States Bill Clinton visited the facilities of the Consorcio Energético Punta Cana Macao  -CEPM-  to learn about the infrastructure and innovative technology supporting the efficient energy supply model in the East of the country, specifically for the tourist area of Bavaro and Punta Cana.

Clinton was accompanied by our Chairman and CEO, Rolando González Bunster, Frank Rainieri, President of Grupo Punta Cana and Roberto Herrera, InterEnergy’s DR Country Manager.

CEPM represents the most important investment of energy solutions in the East Zone of the Dominican Republic, with an investment superior to  US$680 million dollars.

During the tour, Roberto Herrera informed former President Clinton about the generation projects at the Bavaro facilities and the impact of energy supply on the social and economic development of the area as well as the development of initiatives such as electric mobility and wind solar parks.

During the tour, former President Clinton was interested in learning about CEPM’s innovation platforms in terms of distribution, smart grids, remote service solutions and renewable energies.
