CEPM and Evergo promote diversity and inclusion with “Women of Energy” campaign

During Women’s Month, CEPM and Evergo develop activities to unite collaborators, community members and local journalists with the objective of promoting a culture of diversity, inclusion and zero discrimination in society.

La Altagracia, March 15, 2024As part of the “Women of Energy” campaign, InterEnergy and its companies CEPM and Evergo joined forces to organize a meeting-conversation with renowned journalist Edith Febles, where the important role of the media in the construction of a conscious and responsible narrative on gender issues was discussed.

In her speech, Febles used audiovisual resources and examples of sexist approaches and stereotypes present in the Dominican media, emphasizing the importance of counteracting sexist language, inequality, exclusion and discrimination against women.

The activity entitled “From Awareness to Action: Media Responsibility in the Coverage of Gender Issues”, brought together more than 50 media professionals from the Bávaro Punta Cana area, at the facilities of Evergo Connect, the first electric-powered gas station in the Caribbean.

Helena Saenz, InterEnergy’s Senior Manager of Communications and Shared Value, said “we strongly believe in the power of awareness and joint action to drive positive change in our society. By collaborating with a journalism reference like Edith Febles, we can make a significant impact in building a more conscious press on these issues”.

The Women of Energy campaign is held every March in commemoration of International Women’s Day, with the aim of promoting the integral development of women and consolidating their role as key agents in building a sustainable world. This initiative, which is being carried out for the third consecutive year, seeks to raise awareness among audiences about the importance of gender equality and promote concrete actions to advance towards this goal.

Throughout the month, InterEnergy and all its companies carry out a series of internal and external activities aimed at employees and the community, with the objective of promoting awareness of the importance of gender equality and creating a culture of diversity and inclusion. In addition, it highlights the contributions of local women who have had a significant impact on local development, and are recognized for their stories of transformation and dedication to driving progress and equity in their communities.
