CEPM donates equipment to open ITLA in Bávaro



The educational center will host 60 students every six months, who will specialize in technical careers

BÁVARO, La Altagracia.- The Consorcio Energético Punta Cana – Macao (CEPM), together with the Municipal Tourist District of Verón – Punta Cana, signed a cooperation agreement with the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA) for the opening of the first extension of ITLA in the eastern region of the country.

Under this agreement, CEPM will donate 15 specialized computers, the construction of the center’s bathrooms, part of the furniture and, through ACTIVA, the internet. In addition, the company will have its professional and technical staff for orientation and conferences. In addition, the company will allow students to visit the CEPM plant facilities that entail enriching the learning of the center’s students.

The educational center will be inaugurated on November 23, 2017 and will host 60 students every six months, who will specialize in technical careers such as mobile application design, web design and programming, among others.

“For CEPM innovation is the basis of success, we are very proud to be part of the first center of its kind in our area,” said Oscar San Martín, Distribution and Commercial Director of the company.

The director of the Verón Punta Cana District, Manolo Ramírez, said: “As a systems engineer that I am, I understand the importance of technical careers to promote the development of the area.” While the rector of the ITLA, ing. José Armando Tavares, said that “ITLA is committed to bringing education to the entire country and this is possible only with the support of companies like CEPM.”
