Social Investment

Initiatives that focus on generating social welfare to the community:

  • Electrification of rural areas: CEPM reaches every place where a community exist inside if its area of influence trough the construction of electrical infrastructure.
  • Prepaid Energy: A program that commercializes prepaid energy, allowing the costumers to tailor their energy consumption to the amount and frequency of their income, and helping them to optimize their consumption, avoiding the reconnection fees that result after the suspension of service for lack of payment.
  • Schools Sponsorship Program: Along with the Ministry of Education, CEPM contributes with the development of the local public schools trough programs that help maintain their infrastructure and their working programs, offers training for teachers and students and gets the parents involved in the process.
  • Energy Donation to the Public Health Institutions: CEPM supplies energy at no cost to all of the public health facilities in our communities.
  • Energy Donation to all Public Schools: CEPM supplies energy at no cost to all of the public schools in our communities.
  • Energy Donation to all Public Force Institutions: CEPM supplies energy at no cost to all of the military and police bases and facilities in our communities.

Social and Communitarian Management

Initiatives that focus on social interaction and the strengthening of our bond with the communities.

  • Educational Campaigns: In order to keep our clients informed about topics related to the services that we provide, CEPM organizes campaigns and informative talks that focus on diminishing the risks of electricity among the population, promote and efficient use of energy, communicate the rights and responsibilities of our users, promote the culture of legality, among other topics.
  • Christmas Lighting: As part of a tradition since 2010, CEPM designs, builds and sets up the Christmas Lighting of the main streets and avenues of our area, so that the community can enjoy a merrier Christmas, along with artistic shows never before seen in the region.
  • Sponsorship and Support: CEPM sponsors numerous activities of social interest such as supporting events, cultural activities and environmental programs.

Our Initiatives

More than 4,000 people enjoyed the Three Kings Day with a fun evening of CEPM

More than 4,000 people enjoyed this Sunday, January 6, 2019, the Three Kings Day with a fun evening organized by the Consorcio Energético Punta Cana – Macao (CEPM), at the baseball court of Villa Playwood, Verón, totally free , for the entire family. The activity had the participation of more than 3,000 children who enjoyed inflatable games, wizards, dancers, candy and gifts, and an impressive fireworks show.

Community leaders visit our facilities in Bávaro

On February 24, 2017, we had the pleasure of welcoming 15 leaders from the areas of Villa del Mar, Kosovo, Monte Verde, Villa Esperanza, Las Flores and other sectors to our facilities in Bávaro. In their tour of the different points of our plant, key players in our area were able to appreciate and better understand CEPM’s projects and innovations.

2018 Energy Saving Chats

On April 9 to 26, 2018, CEPMCITO came to each school in our concession area to teach children through fun talks, the importance of taking care of the environment through energy savings.

First seminar of community leaders

As a way to promote the empowerment of the communities in our area, we recently held a Social and Community Leadership Seminar in which some 55 leaders from sectors such as Verón, La Ceiba del Salado, Villa Esperanza, Villa La Fe, Cristinita, Samaritano participated. I and II, Cortecito and other locations. The seminar lasted eight weeks, for a total of 16 hours of teaching, with topics such as the management of assemblies and community planning.

Fun workshops 2017

During March 2017 we brought science and fun to the students of the schools in our concession area. As part of a series of workshops, we teach children through creativity topics such as energy saving, care for the environment, recycling and the importance of raising awareness about the risks and electrical hazards.

Reforestation at Padre Nuestro, Bayahíbe

With a strategic alliance between the Ministry of the Environment and CEPM, on Saturday, October 15, 2016, we carried out a reforestation day where we planted 500 endemic trees in the Padre Nuestro area in Bayahíbe, with the purpose of conserving and protecting the environment.

Launch of the Playing Safe 2018 program

On Sunday, June 17, 2018 we ran the extra mile to join more than 300 children and adolescents who participated in the 2nd Bavarian Intercollegiate Race 2018. As part of our Safe Play program, we said we were present in Down Town Center as sponsors of the event that brought together to students of Pauline’s Garten, My second Mile, Veron I Elementary School, Yess Kindergarten, Punta Cana International School. CEPMCITO, our mascot, took several talks about safe play, especially about the danger of flying chichiguas next to power lines.

Remodeling School Barrio Nuevo

With the presence of the main community leaders of Barrio Nuevo, students and teachers, the Punta Cana – Macao Energy Consortium (CEPM) formally delivered the Barrio Nuevo Community School, re-arranged between April 7 and 9, 2017 by collaborators of CEPM.

The event was headed by the school’s director, Ariana Rondón, and the General Manager of CEPM, Jesus Bolinaga, who said: “Although CEPM has been supporting this school for years with the donation of energy, we felt that it was time to take our contribution to another level, supporting these teachers, who give up what they do not have for these children, with the basic themes”.

Heroes of education 2017

With the presence of the main community leaders of Barrio Nuevo, students and teachers, the Punta Cana – Macao Energy Consortium (CEPM) formally delivered the Barrio Nuevo Community School, re-arranged between April 7 and 9, 2017 by collaborators of CEPM.

With its Héroes de la Educación program, CEPM managed to donate more than 400 backpacks with their school supplies to an equal number of children with limited resources in the most deprived areas of Bávaro. We appreciate the support of Unibe Cap Cana.

Community Link – Visit to the plant of 15 community leaders

On February 24, 2017, we had the pleasure of receiving at our Bávaro facilities the visit of 15 leaders from the areas of Villa del Mar, Kosovo, Monte Verde, Villa Esperanza, Las Flores and other sectors. During their journey through the different points of our plant, key players in our area could appreciate and better understand CEPM’s projects and innovations.
